Johnene Adams is a contemporary visual artist whose lifelong engagement with art began in childhood through formal classes and frequent visits to museums and exhibitions with her mother. As an adult, she and her husband became dedicated art collectors, a pursuit that further
deepened her understanding of artists' practices and the creative process. After leaving corporate America, Johnene pursued design studies and later joined her daughter's interior design firm, AHA Designs, where she worked on complex, creative projects that
reinforced her passion for design, spatial composition, and visual storytelling. For more than two decades, Johnene was an active member of Sister Friends, a collective of seven female art collectors based in Bloomington, Illinois. Through the group's annual exhibitions and sales, Sister Friends championed and promoted African American artists,
contributing to cultural visibility and meaningful community engagement. Following her retirement from the corporate world, Johnene returned to art in a deeply personal and focused way, fully committing to her own studio practice as an acrylic artist. Her work synthesizes lived experience with ongoing artistic exploration, characterized by rich texture, bold
color palettes, and emotional resonance. Johnene lives and works in Arizona. Her work is represented by art dealer and gallery owners
Andre and Frances Guichard and has been featured in exhibitions that engage diverse audiences.
