CHICAGO, IL — September–October 2026 — Gallery Guichard, in partnership with The Field Museum, the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Garfield Park Conservatory, and the South Shore Cultural Center, proudly presents Soul of the Stone, an eight-month cultural and artistic experience celebrating the rich tradition of Zimbabwean Shona stone sculpture.
Matthew Nakhawale is a renowned Zimbabwean stone sculptor belonging to the Shona sculpture movement, celebrated for hand-carving intricate abstract and natural forms from indigenous stones like serpentine and Springstone.
