SOUL OF THE STONE: A Living Sculpture Journey from Zimbabwe to Chicago
CHICAGO, IL — September–October 2026 — Gallery Guichard, in partnership with The Field Museum, the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Garfield Park Conservatory, and the South Shore Cultural Center, proudly presents Soul of the Stone, an eight-month cultural and artistic experience celebrating the rich tradition of Zimbabwean Shona stone sculpture.
Cleopas Kamanga was born in 19/09/1982. He started art sculpture in 2001 with Tanyanyiwa Nyandoro, and was inspired by abstract sculptures. Kamanga was tutored by Ishmael Chitiyo and Tanyanyiwa Nyandoro, & participated in a number of exhibitions including E.G. Water is life, and E.U Currently Week and among others.
