SOUL OF THE STONE: A Living Sculpture Journey from Zimbabwe to Chicago
CHICAGO, IL — September–October 2026 — Gallery Guichard, in partnership with The Field Museum, the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Garfield Park Conservatory, and the South Shore Cultural Center, proudly presents Soul of the Stone, an eight-month cultural and artistic experience celebrating the rich tradition of Zimbabwean Shona stone sculpture.
Tavengwa Kazembe was born in 21/11/1998 in Harare, Zimbabwe Chitungwiza. As an artist, he’s used Coca-Cola tins to make a motorcycle with a wire welding machine. He started creating art in 2000 when he was young,
and was inspired with his brother by laptop photos & fine art.
