SOUL OF THE STONE: A Living Sculpture Journey from Zimbabwe to Chicago
CHICAGO, IL — September–October 2026 — Gallery Guichard, in partnership with The Field Museum, the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Garfield Park Conservatory, and the South Shore Cultural Center, proudly presents Soul of the Stone, an eight-month cultural and artistic experience celebrating the rich tradition of Zimbabwean Shona stone sculpture.
Cleopas Kamanga started doing stone sculptor arts in 2001 with Allen Nyandoro, worked at Chitungwiza Arts Centre in 2018 until present day. He is inspired by abstract arts and creations due to the diversity of feelings and emotions they showcase as wellbas the diversity of the arts. His mentors are are Ishmael Chitiyo, Elvis Mamvura, and Allan Nyandoro. Kamanga participated in exhibitions that include: Unity and Diversity exhibitions by E.U council, Water is Life Exhibition, Campbridge University Exhibition, etc.
