SOUL OF THE STONE: A Living Sculpture Journey from Zimbabwe to Chicago

CHICAGO, IL — September–October 2026 — Gallery Guichard, in partnership with The Field Museum, the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Garfield Park Conservatory, and the South Shore Cultural Center, proudly presents Soul of the Stone, an eight-month cultural and artistic experience celebrating the rich tradition of Zimbabwean Shona stone sculpture.

Allan was born in 1980 in Chitungwiza a conurbation of Harare, Zimbabwe. He was educated in the town of Harare, and from a very young age Allan had a strong passion for art. He started working with stone after some years and was taught by David Chikuzeni.
