Dear Diary is the story of Liv who decides to take her pain and create something beautiful. She is like so many of our children who struggle with everyday acceptance based on their natural hair. Wearing our crowns can often be at the forefront of ridicule which in turn can result in a domino effect of low self esteem and image issues. In this shadow box I decided to use tulle and cotton to resemble Liv’s beautiful full hair. The test reads : “ Dear Diary, they call me names like bush and sometimes make me feel bad because of my height. But guess what? I got tall dreams !!! with my cotton candy hair, besides everybody loves cotton candy! Love, Liv”
